Daniel Craig is the star of some of the best James Bond films in recent history, including Casino Royale and Skyfall (let's try to forget Quantam of Solace and Spectre). He also has an exceptional physique that many guys would kill to have (pardon the pun). The Daniel Craig Workout Schedule and Diet Routine By admin on Friday, November 1, 2019 Mister Daniel Craig has been the face of Bond, James Bond since 2008 ( Quantum of Solace) and even though you can tell Daniel has grown a bit older over the last few years his physique just gets better and better. Naturally, things took a little longer than they would have 15 years ago, when the pair were gearing up to shoot Casino Royale. Accepting that Bond is ageing alongside Craig, Waterson says, was key.

One conclusion that you arrive at from the books – the films to a lesser degree – is that despite his heavy intake of vodka martinis and cigarettes, James Bond remains exceptionally fit.

Apart from golf at the weekend and being sent to Shrubland’s by M in Thunderball, we learn little about Bond’s workout routine, although we do learn that he had “founded the first serious judo class at a British public school” – a skill that no doubt came to be of use when on assignment.

The first indication of any exercise regime at all is in From Russia With Love, when Bond wakes up bored and wants to shake himself out of it – he does 20 slow press-ups, straight leg-lifts and toe touches, followed by arm and chest exercises until he he dizzy. It doesn’t sound like much, but seems to have done the trick in keeping 007 in top physical condition.

Daniel Craig’s workout

It seems fairly obvious that Daniel Craig worked out hard to get into shape for Casino Royale and is on record as saying that when he went to a personal trainer, his objective was to look as if he could kill. Craig’s personal trainer was Simon Waterson, who is ex-Royal Marines, and in addition to Daniel Craig has coached Pierce Brosnan and Halle Berry amongst others.

GQ ran an article about how to get in shape like Daniel Craig, a routine that consisted of multiple sets of dips, pull-ups, lateral raises and press-ups. Craig was in the gym five days a week and gave up smoking, but the results speak for themselves. The GQ article isn’t available online, but Anthony Punshon, fitness editor at Mansized, has published a workout that is designed to get similar results.

Simon Waterson, Daniel Craig’s personal trainer, is an ex-marine and author of two books on fitness. You can buy them online from Amazon below:

Daniel Craig’s Quantum of Solace Workout Gave Him a Beachbody

And, it is obvious to everyone that this time around Daniel Craig did not appear as “muscled up” as he did in the beach scene in his first James Bond film… Casino Royale.

The Casino Royale workout was focused on weight training and utilizing supersets in exercises such as the, clean and jerk, squats, bench pressing, etc.

Daniel Craig Quantum of Solace Workout Secrets

The Quantum of Solace Workout was focused more on boxing and running. Some would say that he went from “looking like he could kick some butt” to actually being able to do it. That is strictly academic because, being strong and being able to kick butt are not necessarily the same thing. Kicking butt is not just about physical strength it is also about skill.

However, let’s get back to be differences between the Quantum of Solace workout vs Casino Royale workout.

In addition to adding boxing to the training regimen, the Daniel Craig Workout also included sprints and plyometric jumping. During the filming of Casino Royale he was required to do a lot of jumping and sprinting. Unfortunately, he wasn’t prepared for it and consequently ended up injuring himself in the process.

This time around he decided to add both of these components to his training program.

If your goal is to add some muscle size and to get lean at the same time your best bet is to use compound movements. Consequently, it’s no great surprise that the Daniel Craig workout for quantum muscles included weight training circuits.

These circuits consisted of squats, clean and jerks, and a lot of pushing and pulling.

Even his cardiovascular training was changed. Instead of constantly doing sprints they mixed it up with hitting the pads. Which of course is a boxing workout.

If you’re trying to get leaner than you might want to consider a boxing workout in lieu of just beating up the treadmill.

It also has been rumored that Daniel Craig also added in Yoga and Pilates in preparation for this film. As he did before he again turned to his personal trainer Simon Waterson to help him put together his diet.

Although there was not too much information about the Daniel Craig diet at this time, I would imagine it was very similar to the original one. Eat six meals a day, high-protein, low carbs, low fat and drink plenty of water.
